A good master during the repair can make many elements of the environment independently from simple and affordable materials. For example, in this case, the author suggests using gypsum in the work.

The basic idea is how to easily make a carriage for skirting boards, moldings and cornices. You can create unique and durable products with a material consumption of only 2 kg per meter.

Carriage creation

You will need 1 m of boards with a smooth edge. Cut two pieces of 30 cm and two pieces of 20 cm. In one of the 20-centimeter segments cut a window a little larger than the cutter. Attach the second side as a stop so that the carriage moves smoothly along the edge of the table.

The shape of the future baseboard is easiest to design on notebook paper. Set the necessary dimensions, consider the depth of the recesses and its relief. You can cut the blade from an old spatula, stainless steel sheet or hard plastic.

Skirting molding

About 1 kg of gypsum G-16 will require about 500-600 g of water. You will need several broaches to fill all the voids and give the baseboard a finished look.

The first time there are many gaps. Just fill them with gypsum that has accumulated at the end. It is important to carry out the carriage in one motion, without jerking. To do this, add water over the mixture with a brush.

Finished products must be completely dried on a flat horizontal surface. While the gypsum is still wet, you can saw it to the desired length, then process it with sandpaper and remove the influx from the edges with a spatula.

The next step is priming and painting. The soil needs deep penetration, it is best to apply it with a roller. Choose washable paint to carry out wet cleaning without fear of damaging the plaster.

It remains only to glue the baseboard. There are no special techniques. Ordinary tile glue, a pre-primed wall - and your repair will be pleasing to the eye for a long time. This skirting board is light, strong, durable and will significantly save the budget.
