In this review, the wizard shows the process of making a hatchet from an old circular saw.

The first step is to draw a sketch of the future hatchet on a circular saw. Then we cut the workpiece using angle grinder.

After that, the author processes the workpiece on a grinding machine (grinder).

We recommend reading: a compact grinder for a garage from improvised materials.

The author performs the finishing processing of the workpiece already with the help of a file for metal.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the master forms the slopes of the blade on the workpiece. A grinder is used for this operation.

After that, the cutting part of the ax must be heated to 730-780 degrees (depending on the grade of steel) and cooled in a container with oil.

Next, the author sharpenes the ax. From a piece of aluminum, we cut two pads on the handle. We fasten them and process them with a file.

The last stage of work is polishing the entire ax and finishing sharpening the blade.
