Flowerbed of old tires

Any owner of a summer cottage would like its territory to be the most beautiful and unique in comparison with neighboring plots. Although in our time in stores a large assortment of decorations and materials for the design of the site is offered, you can still draw up your plan yourself, saving your money on this. In this article, we will consider one of the options how you can make a unique decoration yourself, namely a bed of old tires. This flowerbed has the shape of a large cup.
For this work we will need:
• Two tires;
• Metal profile (50 - 60 cm);
• Scissors for metal;
• Plastic bottles (at least three);
• screwdriver;
• Self-tapping screws;
• Shoe knife;
• Acrylic paint;
• Brush.
To make this flowerbed, we need two tires. One of them should be smaller. Such old tires can be requested for free at any tire shop.
As shown in the illustration, the side of the tire must be cut. This can be done with a conventional boot knife. As a result, we get three elements.
The next step is to make a handle for the cup. To do this, we need a metal profile, as well as scissors for metal. Retreating every 10 cm, it is necessary to make incisions in the side of the profile. This is necessary to make it convenient to bend. The edges of the profile must also be cut and bent so that it is convenient to fasten to the tires.
Next, with the help of metal screws and a screwdriver, it is necessary to screw the handle to the lower and upper part of the cup (to the upper and lower tires). These two tires also need to be fastened together. This is done using self-tapping screws in the inside, as shown in the illustration.
The result is such a cup. Please note that the third element, which was cut from the side of a large tire, is the base of the flowerbed, and plays the role of a saucer or stand.
After the cup is ready, we proceed to decorate it. For this we need 3 or more plastic bottles, namely their lower part. You can trim the base of the bottles with a construction knife and scissors. Thus, we will get flowers that can be painted in any color you like. Using one self-tapping screw, it is necessary to screw the flowers onto the top of the cup.
The next stage is the painting of the flower bed itself. Acrylic paint is the most suitable for these purposes. Its advantage is that it retains brightness perfectly and does not fade over the years. Here you have the opportunity to express your imagination, and use those tones that you like. The final stage of the work will be filling the bowl with earth. Then you can plant flowers in it. This flower bed will be an excellent decoration of your summer cottage. Its manufacture is not complicated, and with the necessary tools, such a cup can be made in just a few hours.
