Sometimes your favorite jeans are torn in the most unexpected place. It’s especially a pity that expensive branded jeans, which, it would seem, will not be demolished ... And the hand does not rise and it is no longer possible to wear it in this form. Sad pictures with awkward patches - wedges from grandmother's times - climb into my head ... Plans to alter my son’s jeans, to take them to the cottage ... and yet it’s a pity ...
Fortunately, everything is fixable if you have any sewing machine, and you have minimal skills to work on it.

One of the conditions for success is to choose the right thread. Threads fit ordinary polyester No. 40. The choice in sewing accessories stores is very large. For example, “Ideal” or “Dor tak”. We will select so. Choose a suitable color, wrap a little bit of thread on the finger, and apply this “winding” to the fabric. Two colors should be almost the same, then the darn will be almost invisible.

We also need glue cloth. It is sold in fabric stores and is very inexpensive. It happens in white and black.
Now we turn the jeans inside out. Cut out pieces of adhesive fabric and apply to the places where we will darn.

Glue our blanks. This will facilitate the darning process. The iron should be hot enough. The glue side is rougher to the touch. We put the patch on the jeans with the adhesive side, and slowly iron the pieces, pressing them well. We wait a minute, let cool and gain a foothold.

A darn is performed on any household machine with the help of a reverse (reverse), this function is even in the oldest sewing machines. The stitch length adjuster is set at 2.8 -3.0 mm.

We darn slowly at first. “Block” the impulse with a wide zigzag, similar to a cardiogram, leading the line forward - backward. The edges of our “cardiogram” should not be even, then the darn will be less noticeable and more natural.

Now we darn very carefully the place of the impulse and the neighboring sections. If it is inconvenient to darn with large lines, work with small sections, connecting them with smooth transitions. If white threads are knocked out between the lines, we direct the needle directly at them until they are noticeable. By the way, if the rush is large and a lot of threads stick out, you can cut off the excess, but do not cut all the threads to a full hole, it is better to leave the base. Although recovery is possible with the complete absence of threads, it is a little more complicated.

IMPORTANT: the darn will look more natural if you scribble in the direction of the drawing, and not in the direction of the hem of the fabric!

Sew carefully, in parallel, without rushing. The result will please you. A skill will gradually appear, and the process will take you no more than 15 minutes. When the darning is done, turn the jeans inside out and cut off the excess glue.

After the work is finished, the jeans should be steamed with water and a cloth. Your diligence will be rewarded. Jeans will last you a long time. It is especially nice when your homeworkers look at the work done for a long time and cannot immediately find a darn)
