To make a homemade device that will expand the functionality of an angle grinder, you will need a sheet of rectangular metal 4-5 mm thick with side dimensions 250x130 mm, as well as a pair of ordinary bolts with nuts.

At the base of the steel sheet, you need to make two small holes with a diameter of 10 mm, deviating from the edge by about 2 cm. It is also necessary to cut a small slot with the help of a grinder, which will be used as a "seat" for the tool disc.

Stages of machining blanks

Using the protractor, we make point markings on the surface of the metal plate, as well as core the places for the holes, and it is desirable to place them as close as possible to each other. First you need to drill holes in the metal with a small drill, and then large - specifically for the required diameter.

Using a flat file, we remove the thin "partitions" between the holes, so that as a result, a quarter-circle cut is obtained. Next, we take the grinder, cut off the excess parts on the plate and process the workpiece on an emery.

After machining, the part should be in the form of an “ear”. At the next stage, we retreat from the front edge of the base (sheet of metal) about 1 cm and make a shallow cut - bend this place with a hammer and additionally scald.

Homemade construction process

We weld the part in the form of an “ear” to the base, after which we make a lever by welding it from the waste of a steel sheet 4 mm thick, a p-shaped part with a bolt at the end and an “eye” for fastening. From a piece of strip you need to make a corner that will connect the entire structure. A hole is drilled in the corner for mounting the grinder.

At the last stage of work, we clean all the elements and welds and assemble an adjustable "sole", after which we install the grinder. The result is a practical and convenient design that allows the use of angle grinders as a circular saw and end-face machine. See the video on the website for details.
