A homemade device for cutting plastic bottles on the farm will always come in handy, because with it you can quickly dissolve empty containers on a tape, which can be used both in a private house and in a summer cottage. And you can make a bottle cutter from improvised materials in literally 30-40 minutes.
The basis of the entire structure is two pieces of the board that are connected to each other at an angle of 90 degrees. As a cutting knife, you can use either a blade from a stationery knife, or from a conventional pencil sharpener. An electric drill with a wooden reel for winding a tape will be used as a drive.
The main stages of work
Cut off two pieces of the desired size from the board (long and short) and connect them with screws or screws perpendicular to each other. In the board, which will be located vertically, it is necessary to make a longitudinal cut, as well as three transverse notches - a blade will be installed in them.
We install the cutting knife and press it on both sides with wooden blocks that are screwed to the base. Then we assemble a wooden coil (or you can use a ready-made one if you have it at hand) and fasten it to the mains electric drill chuck - for this, drill a hole in the center and insert a bolt.
We insert the plastic bottle into the longitudinal cut, turn it by hand so that the edge of the tape appears, then we cling the tape to the reel and turn on the drill.
