Plastic bottles roll around (or even neatly stand) literally everywhere you look. But from them, using a very simple device, you can do the right thing - a ribbon, braided rope or fishing line.

You may ask: why might such a tape be needed? Its application is very diverse due to its flexibility and strength. You can tie something with such a tape, it will make a convenient whisk, brush or even a door mat.

Also, the plastic "rope" will successfully replace the slats with which the film used for greenhouses and greenhouses is attached. And of course, the tape is suitable for decorative interior decoration. Moreover, if you cut not a tape, but a thread (fishing line), it will come in handy for stitching something.

The main stages of work

Let's get started, make a simple “stenochka” and “unwind” the bottles, like grandma’s balls. We will prepare a saw, a jigsaw, a vise, a ruler, a pencil, a blade for a safety razor, self-tapping screws with a wide press washer, a wooden block 3 cm wide, 2 cm thick, 20 cm long.

Next, remove the notches from the bar and mark out: draw a line along the bar that divides it in half, then make a cross line, 5 cm from the edge. Dimensions are approximate.

Then divide the blade into two halves. We clamp the bar in a vice and make a saw with a jigsaw along the transverse line so that half of the blade fits completely into it. The second cut (in the middle) must be done at the beginning with a jigsaw from the end of the bar, then with a saw, increasing the width of the gap.

Please note that the second cut should go through the first a little further. Its length depends on what width of the tape you want to make. Sand the gap and fasten the blade with self-tapping screws, which we screw a little further on it from both sides. That's all, actually - the design is ready.

We take a plastic bottle, cut off the bottom of it, insert the edge into the device, turn it a bit, making a plastic incision. Now just hold the bar with one hand, and pull out our tape with the other.

There is another option: we clamp the bar in a vise, we "put" the bottle on the fixture from above and pull the tape with both hands. So, in a few minutes you can "dissolve" a lot of bottles! In the video on our website you can see the detailed manufacturing process of this device.
