A home-made beveller for an electric drill and screwdriver allows you to make a chamfer on the outside and inside of the pipe, as well as other products that have a rounded shape. For example, you can chamfer a hairpin or spade holder.

In this case, the author offers his own version of the chamfer - from an old file for metal. Perhaps this idea will seem unusual to someone, but for home needs this option may well work.

The first step is to cut off two pieces of a length of 40 mm from a flat file. To do this, you need a grinder with a cutting disc.

The main stages of work

A triangular wedge will need to be cut from each blank. The result should be two pointed "teeth." Using a grinder with a petal wheel or on a grinder, it is necessary to sharpen the cutting edges.

Next, you need to cut one of the blanks in half and weld the cutters to the second blank to make a “crown”. A nut is welded to the end of the fixture. And an adapter for an electric drill cartridge is already screwed into it.

Then the home-made beveller is inserted into the cartridge, and you can begin to work. Just like that, you can make a simple adapt for your home workshop with your own hands. Of the disadvantages of this design, it is worth noting pronounced backlash.

You can see the detailed manufacturing process of the chamfer head for a drill from an old file in the video on the website.
