From an old wire brush for metal for angle grinders, which has long worked out its own, you can make a simple grinding nozzle on the grinder.

Of course, it’s much easier to buy a petal wheel, and it’s more convenient to work with it. However, in this case, the master focuses on the fact that in the manufacture of a home-made grinding nozzle improvised materials are used, and, accordingly, the cost of such a nozzle is cheap.

First you need to weld the nut, which is located on the back of the brush for metal, to the metal cup itself (body).

The main stages of work

Then it is necessary to disassemble the brush for metal (that is, to separate the case from the wire twists). To do this, cut the washer inside the housing. This can be done using a drill or on a lathe.

In the next step, you will need to weld a small piece of steel pipe, suitable in diameter, to the brush body for metal.

Next, you need to make a small slot in the case with the help of a grinder. The ends of the sanding belt will wind up in this slot. Then the homemade nozzle is installed on the angle grinder, and you can work.

Please note that the author recommends pressing the ends of the sandpaper inside the drum with a steel ruler. However, despite centrifugal force, there is a risk that the ruler may fly out. To avoid this, it is enough to weld a side inside the case (for example, from a wire 1-2 mm thick).
