For more convenient storage of car tires, the author decided to make a simple mobile rack with his own hands. The design itself turned out to be quite compact, lightweight and most importantly - mobile.
With such a rack, you no longer have to carry one wheel here and there. Just rolled up the rack to the car, and changed the wheels. Quick, easy and convenient.
Necessary materials and tools:
- metal strip;
- steel round pipe;
- profile pipe of rectangular cross section;
- swivel castors;
- bolts with nuts;
- angle grinder;
- welding machine.
The main stages of work
The first step will be to cut the size of the workpiece from the profile pipe. In total, 4 long and 2 short blanks will be required to make the rack. After that, the master makes a marking and drills the mounting holes for the bolts.
Eight plates of suitable length will need to be cut from a piece of metal strip. It is necessary to drill two holes in them.
At the next stage, the author cuts four pieces of a round pipe. Two pieces will need to be welded to each blank. We clean the welds with a grinder.
After that, we assemble two side walls of the future rack - we fasten the structural elements to the bolts with nuts. Then we weld the side walls to the two remaining pieces of the profile pipe.
Next, you will need to paint the resulting design. The author fastens the castors to the bottom of the rack.
