In this review, the author shows how to make with your own hands an interesting and unusual puzzle made of wood and an Allen key that will blow the brain. Well, if it doesn’t blow it up, it will still make you think.
So, to make this puzzle, you need a small piece of the board and a hex key. You will also need a container of water (for example, a pan or an electric kettle), as well as an electric drill or screwdriver.
And first of all, with the help of masking tape, the author makes a markup, according to which it will be necessary to cut the workpiece.
The main stages of work
On a circular saw, the author cuts out three grooves in the workpiece. Then masking tape will need to be removed. With the help of a chisel, it will be necessary to level the walls inside the grooves.
We place the workpiece in a container of water (in this case it is an electric kettle), bring the water to a boil and hold the workpiece for 2-3 hours. Water should be constantly boiling.
The lower part of the workpiece is clamped in a vice and squeezed. Leave the blank "rest" for 2 days. Then you need to drill a hole in the middle of the workpiece so that you can insert a hex key.
And after that we send the workpiece back to the kettle, cook it for 2-3 hours, the compressed fibers should straighten. We give our puzzle to dry, and then bring beauty to the sandpaper.
