In this review, the author shares the idea of how to make a mini stand for a drill with your own hands. The fixture is designed for milling small parts.
Such a device can be ordered on the Internet, but if you have the necessary materials and tools, it is not difficult to do it yourself.
For the manufacture of this homemade product you will need several M6 screws, secateurs springs, a rectangular metal plate, as well as a round brass blank.
The main stages of work
First of all, you need to turn the nuts out of the brass blank and knurled them (for this you need a lathe). In principle, you can do with the most ordinary nuts.
After that, we put the springs on the M6 screws and wind the homemade (or ordinary) nuts as shown in the photo below.
The metal plate must be sanded, then it must be divided into two pieces. The author uses one of them for the manufacture of the part in which the drill will be installed.
Drill holes in the plate (two at the edges and one at the center). Then the sleeve is welded. Finishing is already done on a lathe. In shape, this part resembles a carburetor flange from a motorcycle.
At the last stage, it remains only to make a base for a mini rack. The master uses the second part of a sheet metal plate for this.
