On summer days, when there is unbearable heat outside the window, we only dream about one thing - cool! And if you don’t have an air conditioner at home or in the country, you can do it yourself with your own desktop “analogue”.

Of course, the efficiency of such a homemade product is small, but to cool a small room, a mini "air conditioning" will work fine.

Necessary materials:

  • polystyrene sheets;
  • reinforced adhesive tape;
  • empty aluminum soda cans;
  • thermal gun with glue sticks.

Also, for the manufacture of a desktop "air conditioner", the author uses an air duct grille and a fan with a diameter of 80 mm.

The main stages of work

First of all, from sheets of expanded polystyrene (it is better to buy extruded expanded polystyrene) with the help of hot glue, the author glues a square-shaped box with a bottom.

In two parallel walls of the box, it is necessary to cut out two holes with the help of a clerical knife: square and round. From two pieces of expanded polystyrene, the author makes a cover for the box.

At the next stage, it will be necessary to glue the box itself and the lid for it with reinforced tape.

Further, the author installs a fan in the square hole in the box, and in the round, located on the opposite side, the plastic duct grille.

After that, fill five aluminum cans with water (but not to the very top) and freeze in a freezer. Then we put ice cans in a box.

At the last stage, we connect the fan, close the box with a lid and the home-made air cooler is ready!
