So, let's start by sharpening knives for a lawn mower. Whatever knives you come across - thin (about 2 mm thick) or more thorough (3.2 mm thick), the sharpening principle remains unchanged.

How to sharpen and balance a knife

To sharpen the knife of a lawn mower, you will need a grinder and a flap grinding wheel.

We take the angle grinder and, without removing the knife from the lawn mower, we sharpen the cutting edges. For convenience, the knife, of course, is better to remove.

Most importantly, you must perform the same number of passes on each side of the knife so that there is no imbalance afterwards.

If, after sharpening the knife, the lawnmower began to “hit”, then this can easily be fixed. Find the center of the knife and draw a line.

Then we install it on a kitchen knife or plate, and look in which direction the lawnmower knife falls.

On this side you will need to grind the end slightly. That's all the subtleties that you need to know.
