Water pump from an old compressor from the refrigerator

If you have a well in the country house or in the adjoining area, then there must be a well pump, so that you can pump water from the bottom of the well up.

But the situations are different: the well pump may fail, but it is not possible to buy a new one yet. How to be in this case?

The author suggests temporarily using the compressor from the refrigerator. Thus, it is possible to secure at least some supply of water "from the depths", if there are no other options.

Of course, the performance of a homemade water pump is extremely small. However, 17 liters of water in 6 minutes is better than nothing at all.

However, in fairness it should be noted that the efficiency of the water pump will directly depend on the depth of the well itself and the compressor capacity.

We recommend reading: do-it-yourself hydraulic self-acting pump.

The main stages of work

The first step is to cut off two pieces of the rubber tube. And one of the pieces should have a 90 degree tap.

We put a straight piece of the tube on the compressor nozzle (which pumps air), and insert the curved one into the PVC hose.

After that, the author inserts a straight copper pipe with a diameter of 8 mm into the rubber tap.

Its other end must be inserted into a plastic pipe with a diameter of 28 mm, which will be lowered into the well.

Using ties, we attach a PVC hose to the plastic pipe, and then lower it to the bottom of the well. In this case, the depth is 6 meters.

We connect the free end of the PVC hose to the rubber pipe on the compressor. Then we turn on the compressor, and you can draw water into a bucket or other container.
