On the eve of the New Year holidays and matinees, each mother strives to dress her child in an appropriate manner. Unfortunately, today not every family can afford to buy a ready-made carnival costume. But to sew it yourself on the shoulder of any mistress.
For work you will need crepe satin fabric: white and yellow in meter, red - 30 centimeters; an elastic band, paper and a pencil for a pattern, a centimeter tape, scissors, tailor pins, threads and needles.
We draw a pattern of the future overalls on paper: for those who do not know how to design the pattern, you can attach the old jumpsuit of the child to the paper and circle it along the free contour, taking into account the step seam. We cut out the pattern and pin it on the fabric with tailor's pins. The fold of the fabric should coincide with the side seam of the jumpsuit. We give seam allowances on all sides. We cut out the details, and process the seams with an overlock or zigzag.
With tailor's pins, we chop off two halves of the overalls at the seams, sweep the seams, and sew them on a sewing machine.
Stitching the sleeves.
We make cuffs on the sleeves and legs. We make a line-drawstring, in which later we insert an elastic band.
We cut the collar out of red fabric. To do this, take a cloth flap 70 centimeters long, fold it in half with the front side inward, shorten it along a long cut, turn it on the face and iron it.
We process side slices by wrapping them inward and deferring. Along the long edge (where the long stitch was sewn), we sew another stitch with a wide stitch and slightly pull the thread so that the edge of the collar is matched.
We pin the collar to the neck, bast and attach.
From the remnants of red fabric, we make large buttons-trompe l'oeil and plant them on the suit. Carnival costume "Harlequin" is ready!
