Today, every day more and more gaining momentum "Hand Made" creativity. Very often needlewomen use glass bottles in their creations. They make vases, lamps, coasters, etc. from them.
I will show you a very simple way to cut a bottle evenly in almost a few seconds.

All we need is a nichrome wire, a 12 V battery and cold water.

Cut the bottle

First you need to determine the location of the cut. To make it smooth, take a piece of paper and wrap it in a bottle. Align the edges of the leaf to make the line smooth. Then take a felt-tip pen or marker and circle the border around the sheet. Now the sheet can be removed.

Next, you need to take a piece of nichrome wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm, attach one end to a stationary object. For these purposes, I use a black kettlebell. Then we attach one wire from the battery to it.

We make a round around the bottle. And align on the trail from the marker.

In order not to get burned, take the wire with pliers. We pull quite a bit so that the wire is aligned.
We apply voltage to the other end of the wire.

It is seen that the wire has become hot. In places of contact with the bottle, the wire does not completely blush, as the bottle removes heat.

We are waiting without moving the wire and holding it in tension for about 30 seconds.
Then quickly remove the wire and spray the place of heating with water. You can also make a bucket of water and dip the bottle there.

You will hear a peculiar click of glass, and the bottle will burst exactly along the line where the nichrome wire passed.

The explanation is simple: during heating a certain place in the glass, internal stress arises. After a sharp cooling, the glass surface cools sharply, and its inner part remains heated. As a result of such a sharp change, microcracks appear, which instantly turn into a split.

Such a trick can be done not only with round bottles, but also square, oval, etc.

If the bottle does not break off after water, then just grab it by the neck and press it a little. Everything should fall away.

All irregularities and sharp edges after cutting can be treated with fine sand paper.
When working with glass, be very careful not to cut yourself. Especially beware of small fragments, take all necessary measures to avoid their spread.
