LARGE SPIRAL VASE MADE OF PAPER VINES

To reproduce such a vase-spiral you will need:
• tubes of magazine sheets 116 pieces;
• PVA glue;
• scissors;
• clothes pegs;
• 2 liter plastic bottle.
Two tubes are folded in a cross and pressed against the bottle, one more tube is placed on one of the four threads, the tip of which is slipped under the bottom of the bottle. Now two vines, lying on top of each other, start weaving. The lower vine hugs the upper thread and lies across on a stick from the crosshair. Further, the stick, which took over the vine, is also wrapped around it and placed in a circle on the next stick. The weave is made in the form of a spiral, each vine is pressed tightly against the wall of the bottle.

Having done the work at a sufficient height, the weaving expands. Each twist when winding does not lie on the previous bundle, but a little stepping aside. The further the new nodule lies, the wider the weaving will turn out. By locating the nodules closer or further, you can achieve any desired shape of the product. At the end of weaving, the last vine is fixed with a lower stick covered with clerical glue and fastened with a clothespin. All excess ends are cut off and thickly smeared with glue for strength.

The bottom is made by winding the same tubes in a tight circle to the desired size. Each lash is pre-smoothed with hands and coated with PVA glue. The finished bottom is fixed with a clothespin and left for some time for complete drying.

They paint the finished vase with wooden varnish of mahogany color in several stages, since after one coating, there are many unstained places. You can also insert a cut bottle inside the vase so that you can pour water and plant fresh flowers.
